Since our inception in 1964 we have helped 529 students realize their dreams of obtaining a college education. Awarding over $1,600,000 to deserving students.
George Smith, Floyd James, Ralph Eaton, Urban Wakefield, and William Chesley established the Vermont Golf Association Scholarship Fund in 1964. They set out to assist deserving young students with a connection to the great game of golf obtain a college education.
The first grant awarded was $400 for four years. In 2004, the VGASF increased the number of scholars awarded to 10 with each student receiving up to $1000 per year – increasing the annual scholarship awards upwards of $40,000 per year. To date, 529 young men and women in Vermont have received scholarship assistance totaling more than $1,600,000.

This great game has given us an incredible amount of joy, excitement, and opportunity over the years and the VGASF helps to give back to bright young students with a similar connection to golf.
